Pastor Bryan Peters preached “A Well-Proven Man” from 1 Timothy 3:4-7 at the Presbyterian Reformed Church of Columbus.
An overseer must be well-proven in family, faith, and fame
after the image of the Great Overseer of our Souls.
I. Well-Proven in Family
The overseer of Christ’s flock must be known for his godly rule in his family.
II. Well-Proven in Faith
He must be mature and studied in the faith.
III. Well-Proven in Fame
He must be famous for virtue and faith to the surrounding world.
What is the importance of family life in the church of Christ?
How does God care for his people as a good father?
What is the importance of a good name in the world?
In what ways should we desire a good name? How should we not?
