a warning to professing Christians,
but not a threat to God’s faithfulness.

I. A Warning
Dangerous apostasy does occur within the visible church.

II. An Answer
Apostasy does not overturn God’s faithfulness because Christ has determined to suffer some wicked men amidst the visible church before the final judgment.
