A mission was created at Stockton-on-Tees, England in 1996, with Roy Mohon as the minister. The presbytery declared its intention to endeavor, by God’s help, to establish a presbytery in England which would become an indigenous English denomination committed to the constitutional principles of the Presbyterian Reformed Church.
Pastor Mohon is the minister of the Presbyterian Reformed Church, Stockton-on-Tees. As well as qualifications in banking and taxation, he holds a MA in Theology from the University of Durham. He was converted as a young man and has been expounding the Scriptures ever since. He served as honorary Treasurer of the Trinitarian Bible Society and Moderator of Presbytery in the Presbyterian Reformed Church. He is the author of various articles and several books including Stewardship Ethics in Debt Management published by Kluwer Academic Publishers, The Bible: its Necessity, Qualities Use published by Twoedged Sword Publications, Christ Victorious in the Clash of Cultures published by Ambassador International, Greenville (www.ambassadormedia.co.uk) and The Saviour of the World: Daily Readings from John’s Gospel available from the church.
Pastor Mohon has lived in the North East of England, Lancashire and Northern Ireland. He is married with three daughters, one son and five grandchildren.

Lord’s Day A.M.
- 10.30 a.m. – 12.00 noon – Worship with sermon notes supplied.
- 12.00 noon – 1.00 p.m. – Stay on if you wish for refreshments followed by Children’s Corner for youngsters and informal fellowship time for adults.
Lord’s Day P.M.
- 6.00 p.m. – 7.15 p.m. Worship.
- 7.30 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. Stay if you wish for light refreshments and informal fellowship.
Tuesday Midweek
- 7.30 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. Worship including prayer times.
- 9.00 p.m. – 9.45 p.m. Stay if you wish for light refreshments and informal fellowship.
Quarter end (Lord’s Day evening)
The Last Lord’s Day each quarter is ordinarily the communion season (except in December when it is the week before the last Lord’s Day in the quarter). The Lord’s Supper is under Session control. Visiting professing believers in good standing in their local Reformed congregation need to consult the Pastor in advance. Preparation meeting and a thanksgiving service are normal.
LOCAL OUTREACH
Weekly open air
From March to September open air preaching and tract distribution take place for approximately one hour in one of two venues on some Thursday mornings around 11.00 a.m. These occasions are weather permitting and are preceded by a prayer meeting. They provide opportunities for tract distribution and personal witness in conversations with those who pass by.
Monthly Christian Bookstall
The bookstall is held on the first Saturday of each month in Stockton market in the High Street. A range of Christian books, English and Foreign language Bibles, Trinitarian Bible Society calendars and children’s books are available. Some of the literature can be made available free.
Special Meetings
First Quarter
It is usual for a Trinitarian Bible Society deputation speaker to visit one Tuesday evening usually between March and May. Details are available on request up to six months in advance. The meeting includes worship and ministry and is followed by refreshments and a TBS bookstall.
Third Quarter and Fourth Quarter
An annual day conference is held one Saturday in October. This is a family conference and children are welcome. Usually visiting speakers address topics of interest. Visitors bring their own packed lunches and drinks and hot soup are provided on the day.
LITERATURE
The church will provide on request a free copy of The Saviour of the World booklet prepared by the Pastor. This booklet contains 31 daily studies from John’s Gospel, each one dealing with a key name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
AT HOMES
Our occasional ‘at homes’ or group outings are not Church events. They are not arranged by the Session but by individual members. They provide opportunities of informal fellowship or physical activities such as games or walking and are occasions attended by members and their friends whether the latter are believers or not.
NATIONAL (AND INTERNATIONAL) WITNESS
An interest is taken in the activities of the Protestant Alliance and the Protestant Truth Society. The Pastor has preached in a variety of contexts for other churches, youth organizations and on one occasion for SASRA, which ministers within the armed forces. An active interest is taken in ethical issues within the nation. Recently these have included liberty of conscience, freedom of speech, the sanctity of life, and marriage as informed by relevant Christian organizations that specialize in practical issues. The Pastor has contributed many articles and reports to the Christian press. Over the years these have included such topics as “The Lord’s Day” (Banner of Truth); “The Life, Times and Testimony of John Blackadder” (The Bulwark); Christian Education (Highland Christian Schools Trust); “Unshakeable Confidence” (Trinitarian Bible Society), “The stranger within the gates”, “Apocalypto and the Bible”, “A new year’s resolution from the fall of Babylon, “God’s only Son”, “Creation and educational policy”, “True Democracy”, “VW: Vital Warning” (Evangelical Times); “A law above legislators”, “Alice in Westminster”, “Defending Marriage” (British Church Newspaper); “The Christian Sabbath: Destiny not Drudgery” (The Confessional Presbyterian).
GLOBAL WITNESS
The congregation maintains an active global witness through various channels. These include foreign language Bible and calendar distribution through the Trinitarian Bible Society, ministry to the Jews, relief support as required, and support for our own Presbytery’s Liberian ministry through contributions to the adult catechism lectures and the children’s catechism programme.
